Sir Georg Solti (October 21, 1912 - September 5, 1997), a master Hungarian conductor who left behind numerous recordings for Decca, including the first complete stereo recording of Wagner's ``The Ring of the Nibelung'', is celebrating his 110th birthday and 25th anniversary this year. To commemorate the Memorial Year, we will be encore pressing 43 of Solti's masterpieces.
*Mahler's first Symphony No. 1, written at the age of 28 and overflowing with a breath of youthful youth and dense romanticism, is Solti's second album in the Mahler symphony series, following No. 4 with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. The London Symphony Orchestra was appointed for this performance, and it is clear that Solti's bold and clear conducting was widely recognized by the world, as the 2nd, 3rd, and 9th Nos. were subsequently recorded by this duo.
